Goldey College (catalog) 1899-1900 very fragile.
The early College catalogs (through 1916) provide a wealth of information about the College, Wilmington, and the times. In addition to presenting the College’s philosophy of education and detailed descriptions of the courses, faculty, and the campus, the catalogs include lists of current graduates; lists of students attending during the past year; testimonials of parents, students, and businessmen (some well know) ; list of past graduates and their current employment ; descriptions of employment opportunities in the Wilmington area and expected salaries ; and many photos of the classrooms, students, graduating classes, athletic teams, and Wilmington businesses. The changing business office is reflected in the description of new courses and in the emphasis on the importance of educating women as well as men.
